Meijer Extends Analytics Contract with Nielsen

6/16/2016
Meijer has renewed contract services with Nielsen covering metrics for all of its 227 supercenters and grocery stores throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin.  With this extended agreement, Nielsen will continue its relationship with Meijer and serve as the company's sole provider of consumer insights and analytics with an expanded retainer of services.

For close to a decade, Meijer and Nielsen have worked hand-in-hand to strategically navigate the grocery retail landscape, supporting the "one-stop shopping" retail concept that Meijer has pioneered.  Nielsen's vast suite of products and services has helped Meijer obtain a wide-ranging view of the consumer marketplace as they have extended their retail offerings.

Nielsen has expanded its engagement with Meijer to amplify its custom collaboration program (CCRP), a robust analytical platform for Meijer vendors to gather sales and customer insights specific to the company's product hierarchy and geography. Additionally, this enhanced relationship will grow Nielsen's dedicated account service team and provide a Meijer a more robust data universe with access to Nielsen Answers On Demand (AOD).

"We are excited to continue our longstanding relationship with Meijer as their preferred data provider," says Rob Hill, EVP, Retail Services. "As the tides of grocery shift towards the age of connected commerce, Nielsen's advanced data reporting, expanded technology and consumer insights will offer Meijer a comprehensive view of the consumer allowing them to stay on top of changing trends and habits."
