Campbell, Smucker Execs Join GS1 US Board of Governors

Mark Alexander, president, Campbell North America, and Chris Resweber, senior vice president, corporate communications and public affairs, The J.M. Smucker Company, have been appointed to the GS1 US Board of Governors. Both executives will help guide the GS1 US strategy to drive adoption and usage of GS1 Standards across multiple industries to support improved supply chain efficiencies, regulatory requirements, and the needs of today's consumer, including more accurate and complete product information.

Alexander will serve as chairman of the board, replacing W. Rodney McMullen, chief executive officer, The Kroger Company. As president of Campbell North America, Alexander guides the company's North America strategy, including its consumer-driven innovation and brand-building initiatives. He joined Campbell in 1989 and has held a number of management, marketing and sales roles on four continents. Prior to his current role, Alexander served as president of Campbell International where he was responsible for the company's businesses in Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America.

Resweber will replace Mark Smucker, president, U.S. Retail Coffee, The J.M. Smucker Company, on the board of governors. Resweber is the senior vice president, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, leading the Smucker Company's internal and external communications in addition to government, regulatory, and industry initiatives. He joined Smucker in 1987, has held a variety of leadership roles in marketing, communications, and public affairs, and became an officer of the company in 2004. Resweber has been a catalyst for innovation, brand-building, supply chain advancement and sales growth for Smucker for more than two decades.
