Wal-Mart and P&G Bring Back 'The Jensen Project'

Procter & Gamble (P&G) and Wal-Mart will premiere their second made-for-TV family movie, "The Jensen Project," on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 8/7c on NBC. The movie follows the highly-successful "Secrets of the Mountain," which aired in April and is the highest-rated Family Movie on broadcast TV of the last six months (watched by more than 7.5 million people). "The Jensen Project" will also feature a soundtrack produced by music mogul Randy Jackson that includes songs from artists such as Jordin Sparks, Brooke White and Alisan, Ilsey & Jordan.

"We were touched by the hundreds of thank you letters and the outpouring of support we received for 'Secrets of the Mountain,'" says Marc Pritchard, global marketing and brand building officer at Procter & Gamble. "We're pleased to be able to present American families with 'The Jensen Project,' another program they can all watch and enjoy. Our ongoing partnership with Wal-Mart furthers our commitment to serve consumers and provide entertainment that brings families together."

"The Jensen Project" is based on a secret community of geniuses conducting underground research to help solve some of the world's most difficult problems. This science-fiction family movie tells the story of Claire and Matt Thompson, two former scientists who return to The Jensen Project after a 16-year absence. Together, with their tech-savvy son Brody, the family is thrust into a frantic pursuit to keep a potentially-dangerous technology from falling into the wrong hands. As the family races to stop the group's rogue faction, they rediscover the importance of honesty, courage and being there for one another.

"The overwhelming success of 'Secrets of The Mountain' validates our claim that families are looking for entertainment that they can enjoy together," says Stephen Quinn, chief marketing officer at Wal-Mart. "We continue to work directly with parents to query them on the content they are seeking to share with their families. 'The Jensen Project' is intended to appeal to family members of all ages and we look forward to working in concert with P&G to offer even more high-quality family programming."

A third movie, "A Walk in My Shoes," is already in post-production and will air later this year. P&G and Wal-Mart will also begin production on their fourth movie this fall. The two companies decided to work together to create programming after hearing from families and advertisers who wanted more quality entertainment options.
