Starbucks to Sell K-Cups | News | Consumer Goods Technology
Beginning Tuesday, June 12, Starbucks K-Cup packs will be available in participating Starbucks retail stores nationwide. Starbucks is the exclusive, licensed super-premium coffee brand produced by Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. (GMCR) for its Keurig K-Cup Single Cup Brewers. “Following the successful launch of Starbucks K-Cup packs into food, drug, mass and club channels last November, we are looking forward to offering Starbucks K-Cup packs to the millions of customers who visit our stores every week,” said Cliff Burrows, Starbucks president, U.S. and the Americas. Pike Place Roast and Sumatra, medium and dark roast coffees, respectively, and among Starbucks most popular coffees, will be available in 12-count packs for $11.95. Starbucks Veranda Blend, a Blonde roast coffee, and Caff Verona, a dark roast coffee, will be added to the assortment in July, along with Tazo Awake and Tazo Zen teas. “The availability of Starbucks K-Cup packs in our retail stores is an added convenience for our customers and a complement to the variety of coffee choices we provide,” added Burrows. “Starbucks is a destination for coffee, whether our customers want to purchase a handcrafted espresso beverage, a pound of whole bean coffee for a press, Starbucks K-Cup packs for a single cup, or Starbucks VIA Ready Brew to make on the go.“
