General Mills decided to close its manufacturing facility in Vineland, New Jersey by the first quarter of fiscal 2018. General Mills has operated in Vineland since 2001. The plant manufactures Progresso soup products.
On July 21, the company announced a tentative decision to close its Vineland facility, subject to negotiation with union officials. Those negotiations were recently completed, and the company said it will begin the review of necessary processes to transition production to other U.S. facilities.
The closure will impact approximately 370 employees, which will receive severance and transition benefits.
