CGT Reveals 2014 Business & Technology Award Winners

10/24/2014
During an awards ceremony at the 2014 Consumer Goods Business & Technology Leadership Conference, CGT announced the winners of its annual Business & Technology Leadership Awards. The prestigious awards recognize an elite group of consumer goods companies for unmatched, transformational business and technology initiatives in the areas of supply chain, customer management and mid-market growth.??

Nominations in three award categories were collected from the CGT community throughout 2014. These nominations were then narrowed down to a group of three finalists by CGT's editorial staff based on multiple award criteria, like project scope, goals and results realized thus far. This shorter list was then sent to CGT's editorial and research advisory board members, which elected one “winner” in each category.??

So with the votes tallied, CGT would like to proudly reveal the Business & Technology Award winners for 2014.??

CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT AWARD
?The Customer Management Award is presented to the consumer goods firm that is best leveraging technology or business process change to manage customer relationships, trade promotions, marketing and/or consumer insights.? ?

WINNER: The Procter & Gamble Company
?In 2010, P&G had 500 CRM programs around the world, communicating directly to consumers about new products, promotions, samples and brand-related content via various touch points. As a result, knowledge about the consumer response or brand preferences could not be easily analyzed or leveraged. Working with Teradata, P&G established a single system of record for CRM on a global scale — called 1, Consumer Place — that enables the company to craft individualized engagement strategies, and recognize and better serve the same consumer across all touch points.

**Finalists in this category are Beiersdorf and Hillshire Brands (now Tyson Foods).

SMB MARKET AWARD
The SMB Market Award is presented to the small to mid-sized consumer goods firm that is best utilizing technology or business initiatives to achieve substantial growth in size and/or revenue.

WINNER: Suja Juice LLC
Suja Juice was named No. 3 on Forbes "America's Most Promising Companies" list. The raw juice manufacturer is one of the country's fastest growing beverage companies, having exploded from a home-based delivery service just two years ago to a company poised to sell $50 million this year. During the early growth stage, shelf presence was critical. Suja Juice partnered with Flowfinity Wireless to launch a mobile solution that enables Suja's merchandising team to gather valuable real-time data in retail stores about out-of-stocks, shelf space and competitor activity. As a result, Suja increased sales coverage by 20 percent, developed highly targeted sales strategies, and ensured retail execution excellence.

**Finalists in this category are Lifetime Brands and New Belgium Brewing.

DICK CLARK SUPPLY CHAIN AWARD
In honor of the late supply chain visionary Dick Clark, this award is presented to a consumer goods firm for excellence in executing improvements in supply or demand planning, warehouse management, transportation management, S&OP processes or supply chain network design.

WINNER: Kellogg Company
Kellogg Company achieved the successful process and application integration of Pringles, a $2.7 billion strategic product acquisition, in just one month. Return on investment commenced in 12 months. This brand new category is the largest growth driver in the Kellogg portfolio, delivering double-digit growth globally in the first year. Among many other benefits, the successful integration also enabled a fully automated warehousing and distribution solution for the newly acquired category products.

**Finalists in this category are Avon Products, Inc. and Campbell Soup Company.
